SongFest 2024
16th November 2024
By Colin
The Dunsborough SongFest 2024 last weekend 8 to 10 November, has grown each year to become the largest gathering of singers in WA. This year Voiceworks was just one of an incredible line up of 34 magnificent vocal groups who participated in 12 concerts and two workshops at three venues in Dunsborough, plus sang in flash mobs in the markets and outside Coles. Special guests were the Echoes of Ukraine folk choir.
After our unforgettable and hugely successful weekend last year most of our VW choir membership again made the decision to attend. We sang in four concerts. Friday evening was the 'taster' session each choir singing one song. Saturday was the big day. After a morning workshop we sang outside Coles, then in the late afternoon made our way to the Old Dunsborough Hall to perform a 20 minute set to a packed audience.
On Saturday evening we all relaxed at a barbecue hosted by the Altos.
The weekend culminated on Sunday morning when we sang two final songs under the theme of 'Beautiful and Spiritual', a fitting end to the Songfest
Heartfelt thanks to our professionals, Production Director/Accompanist Joshua Webb and Musical Director, Jackson Griggs - both of whom helped us realise what we can achieve.

Onwards towards our next show “Carols in the Park” on Saturday 7 December. This is a joint production with our sister choir Voiceworks PLUS, a performance ensemble for people living with an intellectual disability.
New choir members are very welcome! Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings 7-9.30pm at Shenton park Community Centre.
